Application Example: Aumat
Linear system for cylinder lock production
Challenge
High positioning accuracy with the shortest possible workpiece changing times. These were Aumat's requirements for the design of a new, fully automated system for assembling cylinder locks.Solution
The cylinder lock goes through a total of 15 processing stations before it becomes a finished product. This large number of stations as well as the required short cycle times were the main reasons for using the LS 280 linear assembly system. The design of the system allows short workpiece changing times of 0.5 seconds and high positioning accuracy with fixed interlocking. The modular cell concept is flexible and offers enhanced accessibility.Products in use

Linear Assembly System

The WEISS linear assembly system is like a long, flexible indexing table: high positioning precision, short cycle times, expandable, and optimised accessibility.

Solutions
- LS 280 linear assembly system with the precision and speed of a rotary indexing table
- Enhanced accessibility with a total of 15 processing stations
- The workpiece carriers are transported and interlocked on a cylindrical cam.
